Monday's Results & Bris ROTD 12/23/08
Monday's Results - #3 Red Cajun finished 4th btn 7L, Leesville made a huge jump up, didn't see that coming.
Today's Race
9th Race - Philadelphia Park - Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008
Lots & lots of speed in here so since there are no strong trainer/jockey combo %'s we will look for a horse that is either the speed of the speed horses, a pressing horse, or a closer.
Looks like #5 Tzipi could be the speed 112/72 with 90 Bspd.
#7 - stars portent looks like a good early presser @ 106/76 with 89 Bspd.
#11 - Dance of jewels looks like the next best presser but a little slow 82/89 with a 80 Bspd.
We'll go with the #5 Tzipi with Bruce Levine 61% itm, $40 #5 Show.

Sunday's Results & Bris ROTD 12/22/08
Sunday's Results
$20 Show #6 paid $28.00, #6 bet down to 7/2 aft 3 scratches.
The Bris contest ends the week on Sunday so I will also. For the last 7 days my picks have finished 1st 3 times, 8th once, 3rd once, 2nd twice[ Tracy R. @ Brisnet.com/race of the day ]
$20 show bets paid $188.00, ( 188.00 - 140.00) = $48.00 Profit, But as Twin Spires( on Louisville Mojo ) pointed out if I had parlayed my winnings since Tuesday 8th place finish They would have paid $196.00. That's $156.00 Profit.
Life goes on ...
FG Race 9 LA State Bred Alw 46000x1
1- Jumpin for Jason - ML 6/1 - 91+day layoff Asmussen 16%wins- Asmussen/Bridgmohan 30% w 2007 - 76Bsp
3- Cajun Red - ML 8/1 - 80 Bsp 7L State Bred mdn44k win
5- Grey Idle Man - ML 8/1 - 82 Bsp State Bred 20k claimers win
8- InTheForecast - ML 2/1 - 84 Bsp State bred alw46000x1 lost by a neck
9- Vicar of la - ML 6/1 - 83 Bsp State Bred alw41000x1 2nd by 4L 10 mos ago
Looks like #8 is the Lone speed, but if the 9 challenges him early coming off a 10 mo layoff, then maybe the 3 or 5 can close him out. The 1 is the wild card.

Bris ROTD & TG ROTW - THE CASH CALL FUT
Oh boy, It that time of year. owners dreaming of the KY Derby/Triple Crown Dream.
Every 2 turn Stakes race is Game On.
These can be some of the toughest race to handicap for the entire year.
Let's see who the contender's are :
1-Azul Leon - solid pattern 2nd fastest coming in
5- Pioneer of the nile - fastest coming in Turf Pedigree 1st race on dirt like aw.
7- I want Revenge - Lightly raced, second fastest with rest, off a bounce, this colt is very live.
10- Bittel Road - Turf horse trying cushion track ?????????
11- Mr.Rod - Turf horse trying cushion track, working well at SA Pro-ride surface.
I like the 11 but, the outside post makes me thinks he's going to pay the piper.
so I'm going for a 10 cent superfecta :
1-5-7 WITH 1-5-7 WITH 1-5-7 WITH All
1-5-7 WITH 1-5-7 WITH all WITH 1-5-7
1-5-7 /all /1-5-7/ 1-5-7
all /1-5-7 / 1-5-7 / 1-5-7
$5.40 X 4 bets = $21.60
GOOD LUCK ALL !

Sorry for the late post . As I stated in my initial post I believe you can beat the horses.
By playing Trainer/jockey angles and edges, I believe it is possible to come out ahead using show bets on the best angle/edge you can find, combining Bris speed and Pace shape factors.
I also will be posting superfecta betting strategy using my pick as a key horse.
Today's race is the FG race 8.
www.brisnet.com/raceoftheday
Allowance 44k non winners of 1x or 2L
Lots of angles to choose from
#2 - Asmussen/Bridgmohan 30% wins 2007
#4 - Jones/Thompson 27% wins 58% itm last 60 days
#6 - Steward/Albarado 36% wins 2007
ALSO
#5 - Stidham/Graham 70% itm last 60 days
#7 - Autrey/Theriot 32% wins 2007 & 56% itm last 60 days
#9 - Clark Hanna 20% shipper wins 2007 & 45% itm 2nd after layoff
The PAR for this race is 97 Bris speed, 4 of the above ( 2-4-6-9 ) have reached 92.
#6 will be over bet
#4 is a North easterner, If able to duplicate those numbers @ FG, He is the horse to beat. IF?
That leaves the 2 or the 9 and with Robby opting to ride the 6, I'll go with the 2 as my show bet,
although the 9 should love the long FG stretch.

WELCOME RACE FANS
Welcome to opening day @ ScrappyT's Race Track.
If you couldn't guess I'm a huge horse racing fan. I'm a big believer that it is definitely possible to beat the races. No you may not strike it rich, but you can come out ahead in the long run and have a helluva time in the process. I have been playing this game for 28 some years. It has been full of ups ( $16019.00 Superfecta @ CD BC TURF 2006 ) and downs ( 2004 Lanes End Stakes - Wheeled Birdstone instead of Sinister G missed $50,000 Superfecta by one horse ). Over the years I have learned that your Handicapping is only as good as your data used to handicap from. Currently I believe Brisnet and Thorograph have the best products on the market. I personally rely on Bris speed, Thoro patterns and Trainer/Jockey Combos as well as Trainer Stats. These past few months I have been leaning more on Combo's and Trainer Stats of the Top Bris speed and TG horse's. In the coming months as we start our annual Roads, First to the Ky Derby then onward to Breeder's Cup, I will be posting my picks for the Bris race of the day, TG race of the week, and of course the races making up the Road to the Kentucky Derby. yum yum !!
